The Chicagoland 2011 Kick-Off Luncheon will be held on Friday, August 12 from 12:00 p.m. - 1:30 p.m. at the Hyatt O’Hare (9300 Bryn Mawr Ave. in Rosemont).  $10 for garage parking.

Family Team Open House Event - September 8th

We will be hosting a Family Team Open House event on Thursday, September 8th from 4-6 p.m. at the Tyner Center, 2400 Compass Road in Glenview.  Official invitation coming soon.  This event is geared towards new family teams who have just signed on to the Walk and want to learn how to be successful fundraisers.  Special thanks to Chuck Balling and the Glenview Park District for donating this beautiful space.

2010 Walk Kick-Off Events

Thank you to everyone who attended our Walk Kick-off Luncheon on August  11th at the Hyatt O'Hare. Ron Santo made a special appearance to help us officially kick-off the 2010 Walk and shared some great stories with the room. We are lucky to have such a wonderful champion! Thank you, Ron!

A special thank you to Cole & Lexi DeYoung who were the Youth Ambassadors at last week's event. Cole & Lexi, sisters who both have type 1, shared how much a cure would change their lives and how important it is for everyone involved to raise as much money as possible for a cure, for them and the millions of others living with diabetes. Thank you for inspiring us, Cole & Lexi!

Our Kick-Off Breakfast was held on August 17th at the Drury Lane in Oakbrook Terrace. Special thanks to Bailey Stearns, our youth ambassador, Kristin Kotara, Southwest Suburban Corporate Chair, our "walk experts" who sat on the panel and all those that attended for their support of JDRF!

2010 Lakefront Corporate Chair, Fred Walz, of Grant Thornton, will host the 2010 Lakefront Corporate Team Captain Power Lunch.

This is a great opportunity for our Corporate Team Captains to meet together, discuss ideas specifically designed for corporate teams, and finish the Walk strong! Lunch will be provided. Don’t miss this great opportunity!

2009 Walk Kick-off Events

Attend this new open-house at a time that works for you! Meet successful team captains and fundraisers. Stop by various Walk stations and pick up valuable information on how to build a successful Walk team.

The open house is designed less around a formal program and focuses more on individual areas including: on-line tools, letterwriting campaigns, fundraising activities and day-of Walk logistics. Light refreshments and snacks will be offered. A research update will also be presented.

This event is designed like a traditional luncheon, but the program will include a research update, a Q & A discussion and a panel of Walk peers.Submit a question you would like addressed by August 3. Ask about a key fundraising activity, a best practice, a logistical component – the JDRF Illinois team will have an answer! Lunch will be served.
